Your incredible trek in the Himalayas begins in the Indus Valley. Start of in the peaceful town of Leh, capital of Ladakh, which is home to some of the most beautiful and ancient monasteries in the region, clinging to cliffs or perched on rocky outcrops. Then you start a small trek in the Sham Valley, one of the lowest areas of this region. From mountain passes to traditional whitewashed villages, you walk in the heart of a mineral landscape with colourful mountains of a thousand shades of ochre that contrast with the green oasis of the villages. Then there is a complete change of scenery when you reach the region of Changtang, this region of Ladakh borders Tibet, and is part of the Tibetan arid plateau.
The landscapes you will encounter on your trek in the Himalayas are infinitely beautiful and bright. The spaces are vast and infinite, punctuated by incredible turquoise lakes, and home to many wild animals: yaks, antelopes, wolves and the famous snow leopards. It is in this region that you go to meet the Chang-Pa nomads. Spend a day with them to discover their way of life and sleep in their camp. A unique experience that Shanti Travel was the first to propose in the world of tourism.
With more than 10 years of experience in organising treks in the Himalayas, today we are the only agency in Ladakh to offer you a personalized welcome in Leh and a complete organisation of your trip, thanks to our presence in both New Delhi and Leh.
